Kudos Dan Uggla!

The 33-game "Uggla Smash" came to an end today, but Atlanta's love for Dan is now cemented.

In a rather disappointing day for the Atlanta Braves (they surrendered a 4-0 lead over the Cubs and eventually lost 6-5), Dan Uggla’s 33-game hitting streak came to an end. For a player that was chastised for the first half of the season, it was great seeing Dan go on such a run. Hearing the cheers replace the boos that Uggla received earlier in the year was great. After a rocky arrival in Atlanta, Uggla has cemented himself as part of this team. I think I even saw a few fans sporting Uggla t-shirts in the Turner Field crowds this weekend.

Congrats Dan for setting a new Atlanta record for consecutive games with a hit. Your offensive outburst has helped keep the Braves in the thick of the playoff race and Braves fans all over are finally welcoming you with open arms. Hope to see you get your swing back tomorrow and lead the Braves to a win over the World Champion Giants!
